NEW BAKER "CURSED" SERIES - ANDREW REYNOLDS
Reynolds' and Dustin's graphics were the first I made, working on them at the same time. This one has a few twists to its tale. He originally started up with a cigarette but I soon got work that Andrew had quit so I dropped the smoke and fixed his puckered lip into a snarl. He also started life with eyes, but my undercoat ran into them and when I attempted to clean them they frosted over... it was at this point that I blacked his eyes out and put a fresh set of eyes into his hands, a nod to Pan's Labyrinth.
NEW BAKER "CURSED" SERIES - BRAYDON SZAFRANSKI
Braydon is well known as a lady's man, and I've seen his magnetism at work many a time. I cleared many a store out of fake Barbies to make this one, a got many a puzzled look when I asked if they had any more when I was already buying a dozen at a time.
NEW BAKER "CURSED" SERIES - DON "NUGE" NGUYEN
Coming from a Vietnamese background, apparently Nuge eats Pho almost everyday. I eat it once a week, and have made it a bunch of times. The main difference this time was that instead of stock, I poured resin over the ingredients, then added the fresh herbs and bean sprouts on the day of the photo shoot.
NEW BAKER "CURSED" SERIES - KEVIN "SPANKY" LONG
I spent a few weeks collecting toys for this board - I got them from markets, stationary stores, thrift stores and found toys from the street. Every time I added more, it just made it clearer that many more were needed. In the end I still feel like I should have added more...
NEW BAKER "CURSED" SERIES - JEFF LENOCE
I worked years ago in museums, and specimen jars were a constant feature of the labs I would take meetings in. I don't really know Lenoce, so I hope he doesn't mind me depicting him as freaky fetus escaping from captivity and lighting a satisfied smoke to celebrate.
NEW BAKER "CURSED" SERIES - TERRY KENNEDY
I tend to watch a lot of movies and documentaries when I work on these projects, and while I was working on Sammy Baca's board I revisited the Alien movies. It occurred to me that a smiling Terry Kennedy bursting forth from a white man, covered in slime would be a nice twist.
