THE SKATEBOARDER'S JOURNAL #2 - COVER

Andy Murphy got his feet out for our second cover. It was nice to have him involved at such an early stage of the mag. A lot of people get bummed when we don't put some ripping dude on the cover, nut mark my words, Andy is a ripping dude.

DC TOUR - ISSUE #2

This article was fun for me, though one individual I know didn't like it because the leather-headed narrators apparently didn't make any promotional sense.

Oh well... sometimes tying to do something different kicks you in the face, but if you don't try, you can't fail, and that's not cool.

3D SCULPTURE FOR THE SKATEBOARDER'S JOURNAL #2

This is the second sculpture I made for the magazine. This was about 10 times better than my first attempt in my opinion.

These sculptures came from my feeling that product pages were boring and inadequate.

This job was really quite complex, even my my current standards. I had to built it all -the 41 Willys gasser drag car had a scratch-built polystyrene shell finished in modelling clay, painted the background on canvas, made the car park blacktop out of the lid of a polystyrene box and the characters are wire skeletons with painted modelling clay skin. Then the products were shot and photoshopped in.

A huge waste of time that was immensely satisfying for me in the end.
